The James A. and Faith Knight Foundation was established in 1999 to honor the memory of James A. and Faith Knight and the many sacrifices they made to enable this foundation to carry on their legacy. The James A. and Faith Knight Foundation tries to make a difference in the organizations and communities it serves.

How to Apply to the James A. & Faith Knight Foundation for Funding

 

The James A. and Faith Knight Foundation will accept grant applications through the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation’s (AAACF) NonProfit Portal. Grant decisions for the James A. and Faith Knight Foundation are made independently from AAACF. All questions relating to Knight Foundation funding should be directed to the Knight Foundation at info@knightfoundationmi.org. To register your nonprofit for grant application opportunities through the NonProfit Portal, please go to aaacf.org/grants.  The Knight Foundation will begin accepting applications starting April 1, 2024.

 Please call AAACF (734)663-0401 with any questions regarding the grant system. Please direct questions to Maryellen Ferro, Community Investment Officer at the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.

The deadline date for grant submission is September 30, 2024. For those with limited availability to on-line systems, please see information on our guidelines page for consideration by mail.

The foundation giving is focused on Jackson and Washtenaw Counties in Michigan. We fund many different and far reaching organizations.

The foundation supports organizations that believe in good nonprofit practices including sound financial management, developed governance practices, and clarity of mission.
